When you go on a diet, you have the courage to decide that you are going to accept yourself and stop beating yourself up.
If you do not make that decision, you might just spend your life at the train station, waiting and waiting. But what are you waiting for? You’re waiting to take charge of your life.
You must ask yourself a crucial question: “Am I finally going to decide to accept myself the way I am or am I going to continue to let life pass me by and even have negative thoughts about myself?”
In life you have only two options: take action or suffer. Every time you fail to act, you suffer and you suffer in every respect.
If you no longer want to suffer because of your weight, you must have the courage to take the plunge.
Let’s say that you’re standing on the beach and that the water is a tad cold. You want to go for a swim, but at first you hesitate and then you ask yourself: “I am going in or not?”
Either you stay on the beach and watch the swimmers or you take your courage in both hands and plunge into the water.
Once you’re in the water, you don’t run out screaming and yelling. You always end up thinking “it’s not that bad after all” or “the water’s not that cold”.
What do you have to do to in order to get on with your life?
The most important thing to do is play down the situation, stop feeling guilty and tell yourself that this adventure is possible.
No one, absolutely no one, is guilty of gaining weight, because each pound has its story – a hormonal story and sometimes a sad story too.
